Well, our biggest excitement for the week is the Taylor Bridge Fire. It began yesterday about 2 pm, a ways away from us on the other side of the Yakima River. Sometime last night/this morning it jumped the river in a couple of places and began to creep up the other side of the foothills surrounding us after blackening the hillside across from us. Today's biggest worry was the fire creeping over the hills and to our side of the hills. Dad thinks it's green enough around us, and we all have sprinklers going in the fields and house yards, but that fire is still too close for comfort. Goats went to Moxee, horse trailer is ready if we need to load the horses, and the cars are loaded to the brim with important stuff, although most of it is either for Ethan who leaves tomorrow, or myself for in Prosser...
In the last three hours or so the winds have died, and they seem to have killed off the fire headed this direction in grazeland up top of Springwood's property. Looking outside it's difficult to see any of the fire, except the glow on the other side.
