NYC!!! :)

Kassey had never been to New York City before, so about a month ago she said she really wanted to do a day trip to NYC. Having been quite a few years ago, I made sure she understood she was not to go by herself and that I would gladly go with her if I needed to :) So, that's what we did! We each booked TripperBus tickets for the earliest leave time and latest return time in order to get as much touristing time as possible. As we climbed onto the bus I turned to Kassey and said, "Hey! We don't have to sit up front for the first time in three months...and we don't have to talk in the microphone!" And she piped in, "Or give directions!" It was a glorious realization for us both.
We made the four hour bus ride just fine, dozing in and out the entire way. Once we got there we ventured to find where to trade in our hop on/hop off bus tickets, which included a 90 minute cruise around on the Hudson River. We got to see a ton of the skyline, different buildings and get fairly close to the Statue of Liberty! Then we went walked to the Empire State Building with full intentions of going up to look around, but decided against it to get on the bus and ride around on that for a while. We saw lots of the downtown area, and then when it got to be 6:20 pm we decided to get off and walk to where the bus was picking us up so we wouldn't miss it. We ended up making it just in time, with a little bit to spare during which we got a slice of pizza for the ride home. It was a great day and I'm so glad we were able to do one last big hurrah as roommates!
