Emily and I began our trek on Tuesday after Memorial Day. Together we traveled to Steph and Tyler’s in Missoula — we got to see their house there and even did some shopping in the big city in preparation for the festivities. On Wednesday the three of us caravanned to the Twin Bridges area where the ceremony was held. Again, lots of driving, laughs and gorgeous views through big sky country! Timing allowed us to do some relaxing with Tyler’s family who live in the area. It was a lot of fun getting to know his wonderful family :)
Thursday afternoon we went to a play in a nearby town, and it was so much fun! The theater has been restored to showcase the original building’s character, and you can tell that the actors love their jobs. We found a cute place to eat a yummy dinner before the whirlwind of festivities truly began. That night we (Steph, Em, Steve, Ann, and me) had a few laughs as finishing touches were put on the dance playlist, which of course included a few line dances!
Friday we bummed around a bit in the morning, but once it was time to get into the Round Barn, it was all business. We ended up with quite the crew to get things set up. All week we had been fighting rain, so final touches outside weren’t done until Saturday morning — thank goodness for Steph having lots of friends to help! Saturday turned out to be a gorgeous day weather wise, and the rain picked up again the next day after the ceremony.
The celebration for Steph and Tyler was perfect for them as it showcased the two of them and who they are together. I think it’s safe to say everyone had a good time, and the barn looked beautiful inside and out. Stephanie was gorgeous, of course, and Tyler looked pretty spiffy too.
Dad, Mom and I pulled out of the driveway by 6am on Sunday after a late night of cleaning up. Between Dad and I driving we made it home by 3pm just in time for Dad to do his chores :)
Congrats Steph and Tyler! It was a wonderful day, and we love you guys so much!
