Pictures!

This one is gonna just be pictures and facts, because we went on our first nightview tour, so I got to see the memorials all lit up :)

Cake for Kassey's birthday, with orange icing just for her ;) It's her favorite color...

Washington State's pillar at the World War II Memorial. The part that stands out the most to me in this memorial is the wall of stars, but they apparently don't glow or anything at night, so don't look as neat.

A few of the statues at the Korean War Memorial. There are 19 of them, plus their reflections in the wall, totally 38. Why is 38 important? Because the Korean War was fought at the 38th Parallel, and remains the division line between North and South Korea.

Vietnam War Memorial, I love getting reflections from this wall...

Looking at the Washington Monument from the Jefferson Memorial side of the Tidal Basin. You can see the color change from the break in construction really well from this picture.

MLK Memorial, just finished and opened this last fall. His image is a relief, which means he can be more than 19 1/2 feet tall, which is the height limit for statues because no statue can be taller than Lady Freedom, who sits on top of the Capitol Dome.
